Small by design. Direct by nature.
Anoikis is an intentionally lean consultancy. We keep the team small so clients get direct access to experienced practitioners. No account managers in the middle. No junior handoffs.
How we work
- Lean by design, with no bench and no layers between you and the work.
- You speak directly to the people doing the work from the first conversation.
- Clear scope, clear documentation, reliable follow-through.
- We start with one process, prove value quickly, and build from there if it makes sense.
Why the name Anoikis.
Anoikis comes from a biological term related to detachment. It felt appropriate for work that removes critical processes from the people, spreadsheets, and workarounds they shouldn't depend on.
It's an unusual name, and that's deliberate. We help make weak dependencies visible, then remove them.
Why small matters.
We're small by choice. A bigger team means more overhead and more management. None of that helps a client with a specific operational problem to fix.
Being small means we can be direct. We'll tell you what the problem is, what a fix could look like, and what it would cost. Our proposals are scoped to the problem, not padded to stretch the engagement.
It also means we take on fewer clients and give each one more attention. We're not a volume business.
What this means for you
- You speak to the people doing the work from day one, through to handover.
- Honest scoping without padding or upselling.
- Fewer dependencies on our side, which means faster delivery and less coordination overhead.
- A working relationship that feels straightforward rather than managed.
What we believe.
- Most operational improvement problems are specific and practical, not strategic and complex.
- Good improvements should be understandable by the team that uses them.
- Processes that depend on one person are a risk, not a feature.
- Spreadsheets aren't going away. They need better support, not blanket replacement.
- Documentation is not optional. It is part of the deliverable.
What we avoid
- Platform complexity where a simpler approach would work better.
- Outputs that only we can understand or maintain.
- Engagements that go on longer than the problem requires.
- Recommendations without implementation.
What clients appreciate.
- The ability to work with real-world, messy data and process environments without needing everything to be clean and tidy first.
- An honest view of what's worth fixing and what isn't.
- Deliverables that the client can understand, maintain, and hand over.
- A working relationship that is direct and low-friction.
Typical engagement pattern
- Start with the process that is causing the most pain.
- Understand the current steps, the data, and the failure points.
- Agree on the outcome and how we'll judge success.
- Deliver the improvement with documentation and a clear handover.
- Provide light ongoing support where it makes sense.
If you have a process problem, let's talk about it.
We respond with a straight answer about whether we can help and what it would look like. Simple, direct, and low-pressure.
